Fern leaf

At the end of a loved one's life, it's a time to grieve but it can also be a time to celebrate a lifetime.  Being a

celebrant who leads funerals/memorials/burials/cremations is a privilege and responsibility, being involved with families and friends in one of life's most profound and significant occasions.  A farewell, in whatever form it takes, is as much about life as it is about death. It is a time of holding a family together in gathering their stories, wishes and needs.. More than ever, families want individual funeral ceremonies and celebration of life events that reflect the life of the person who has died,  as well as their family values, culture and lifestyle.

I am an empathetic, professional celebrant who will gently support and guide you and your family through the farewell process to facilitate a meaningful ceremony with dignity and grace for your loved one.

I also offer my services to meet and start the process of pre-planning a farewell, prior to death.

Families have thanked me for providing kind and sensitive support, as well as offering compassion and practical advice at a difficult time (read what others have to say about me below).

At a time of heightened emotion and stress, knowing that the gathering is well planned and in caring as well as competent hands, can bring a sense of relief. Balancing laughter, tears, comfort and showing respect is what I do well.

My role as a celebrant includes working alongside families, listening to the stories about a loved one, writing and delivering a personalised service for funerals, cremations, memorials, committals, burials or scattering of ashes - all in a respectful manner.  If required, I can provide resources for music, readings, prayers, blessings, rituals. People define their spirituality in different ways and I work on preparing a script that reflects an individual’s lifestyle, beliefs and personality.

My services are also available for remembrance gatherings, post funeral / memorial services and pre-planning your own farewell or for your loved one. More details on this different aspect of my work can be found on my Let's Remember page.

I welcome your inquiry to discuss working together, to ensure your decisions feel right and that your ceremony runs smoothly and honours your loved one, so everyone can focus on saying goodbye.

"You are the very best."

You came to mind as someone who really was one of this year's blessings, coming into our lives at exactly the right time in order to help and guide us through Mum's farewell ceremony and in my mind, allowed us to say goodbye with dignity and as much grace as we could muster."

"Our family found Jill's advice  whilst organising our mother-in-law's funeral service to be very valuable. Her guidance

how the service might proceed was much appreciated especially during what was a stressful and emotional time for us.  The service, conducted by Jill, was intimate, brief and sincere - just as the deceased wanted and family instructed. Jill was professional, compassionate and was in touch with the mood of the gathering."

"You were amazing, professional and compassionate.. The service was all we wanted it to be and more.. You were very much the glue that kept us together by leading the day for us."

"You were just the person for us and it was reassuring knowing you were there both as a friend in your very special role."

"Your empathy in noting our parents strong partnership and family ties was very much appreciated."

"We were thrilled with Dad's farewell service and many friends commented on it. We appreciated the calm and caring way you guided us through the process - nothing was too much trouble. We couldn't have done it without you!"
